Quick results, more details to follow in in the coming days:
Thanks to the packed crowd that joined us for Holiday Havoc 3! We were thrilled to have such an incredible turnout despite both Iowa and Iowa State playing bowl games the same day.
Our next event, Divide & Conquer 2 on Jan. 27, 2012, features NWA World's Heavyweight champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce defending the title in Des Moines for the first time in over 25 years!
Holiday Havoc 3 Results
1. Gage Octane (with Todd Countryman) defeated Ray Stryker by pinfall after reversing The Extinguisher and slamming Stryker with the Spine Tingler.
2. "Loser Leaves Genesis" Triple Threat match - "The Unbreakable" Zach Thompson took the fall, so he's forced to leave the group. Tony Sly had Thompson beat, but was looking to Todd Countryman for approval outside the ring, allowing Devin Carter to get the pin. After the match, Sly shockingly punched Countryman, who was saved by Carter.
3. 3XW Pure Wrestling champion "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon defeated "The Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell by pinfall following a Brainbuster setup by underhanded tactics in a great match.
4. Two referees (one inside, one outside the ring) - 3XW Tag Team champions American Ground & Air (Benjamin Sailer & Nate Bash of Genesis) beat Sexier & Smoother (Ryan Slade & AJ Smooth) by pinfall after now former Genesis member Zach Thompson interfered, possibly in an effort to get back in the good graces of Genesis. After all the distractions, AGA nailed Smooth with their trademark double-team move, "No Quarter" - a wheelbarrow stunner -, for the pin. After the match, Thompson, Sailer & Bash beat on Smooth before Slade ran them off. Ryan Slade challenged Thompson to a match at Divide & Conquer 2.
5. 3XW's first Tag Team Flag Match - The American Bulldogs (Maddog McDowell & Jon West with Skylar Pierce) defeated The Mylan Management Agency (Ricky Kwong & The Mauler with Chad Mylan) after West retrieved the American flag and then moonsaulted with the flag onto Kwong. At one point, Mylan tried to climb up and grab the American flag, only to be caught by Skylar Pierce, who nailed him with a forearm punch. The Bulldogs debuted many new double-team moves in this bout.
6. Casanova defeated Sir Bradley Charles by pinfall after a distraction by Arik Cannon. Casanova rolled SBC up and held the tights.
7. Jaysin Strife beat Sparrow by pinfall after a flying spike DDT off the second rope. Gusty effort by Sparrow who was devastated by Strife's unique kick-based offense.
8. "The Ironman" Mark Sterling won the 3XW Heavyweight title for the first time, beating "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt by pinfall follwing multiple Spears and the Disaster Piece after an incredible 33-minute match. Sterling worked over Wyatt's injured knee for much of the match - an injury caused by Sterling in a backstage sneak attack in November.
